Protecting Lake Memphremagog: MCI presents its priorities at its annual general meeting
Magog, June 13, 2026 - At its 59th annual general meeting, held Saturday at the Carrefour d’Austin, Memphremagog Conservation (MCI) presented progress on its projects and reaffirmed the importance of collective commitment to ensure the future of Lake Memphremagog and its watershed. At a time when the loss of natural environments, pressure on water quality, and the effects of climate change are being felt more and more strongly, Johanne Lavoie, the organization’s volunteer president, reminded attendees that protecting the lake and its watershed depends on everyone’s contribution: “Protecting Lake Memphremagog means preserving a precious shared asset. Every action counts, and it is together—citizens, property owners, municipalities, and partners—that we will be able to undertake the actions needed for current and future generations.”
