MCI can help you to revegetate your shoreline!

Are you a property owner on the shores of Lake Memphremagog or one of its tributaries? MCI can help you revegetate your shoreline! As well as being helped by MCI throughout the entire process, the widening of your shoreline buffer zone will in part be financed by any subsidies received. As well, the planting plan for your shoreline is produced for you at no cost!

This projet is aimed at shoreline property owners on Lake Memphremagog and its tributaries with shoreline buffer zones of less than 15 metres who wish to create or widen them.

Shoreline buffer zones play a capital role in the maintenance of Lake Memphremagog’s water quality. They stabilize the shore, preventing the silting up of the lake bottom by preventing soil erosion, filtering out nutrients via their roots, limiting cyanobacteria blooms, maintaining cool water temperatures and providing habitat for fauna. Unfortunately, much of the shoreline of the lake and its tributaries is not up to its role of protecting water quality and biodiversity.
