Notice of Order – Natural Habitats Destroyed in Austin

February 11, 2026 - "The publication of this preliminary notice of order confirms the severity of the damage to natural habitats from the Lake Memphremagog watershed. Memphremagog Conservation welcomes the Ministry’s decision, which officially recognizes the extent of the damage and the need for full restoration. Protecting natural habitats is essential: it is a major lever for addressing climate change and biodiversity loss affecting the Lake Memphremagog watershed, a source of drinking water for 185,000 Eastern Townships residents."
