Letter addressed to the MCI from Congressman, Peter Welch, a member of The House of Representatives in Washington D.C.
Mr. Welch advises that an agreement is currently being worked on that would see the property brought into the U.S. Fish and Wildlife System (Federal) with management control of the land handed over to The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources (State). He supports such an agreement and is well aware of the September 2010 deadline involved. |

List of water testing points
Depuis 1999, le MCi participe à l’échantillonnage de l’eau du lac Memphrémagog pour le MDDEP. L'échantillonage se faisait en 2008, en collaboration avec un laboratoire du Vermont et le MDDEP dans le cadre de l’entente Québec-Vermont. Le plan d’échantillonnage comportait 10 stations réparties sur l’ensemble de la superficie du lac. Ces dernières devaient d’être échantillonnées à quatre reprises durant l’été. Lors des séances d’échantillonnage, une certaine quantité d’eau était prélevée et mise dans différentes bouteilles. Cette opération visait la quantification de la concentration de phosphore total, principal nutriment pour les algues et les plantes aquatiques, ainsi que de la chlorophylle a, indicateur de la quantité d’algues dans la colonne d’eau. Une observation de la transparence de l’eau, indicateur de la quantité de particules en suspension, et de la température en surface étaient aussi effectuées. |
